Thank You For
Having Responded To My Call
In this day of
email, fax machines, cellular telephones, stereos, television and every
conceivable source of noise, it is easy to forget the power and importance of
prayer. Many of us have come to believe that prayer is an unproductive use of
our time. Some believe that it is archaic and fruitless. Others simply can’t
find the time for it. Too many of us that believe in its power, choose to
procrastinate.
Lately, many
people have come to believe that our destiny has been determined already, and
it is pointless to pray any longer.
The Power to Suspend the Laws of Nature
Since her first
apparition to St. James in the first century, Our Lady has been telling us that
prayer is the key to obtaining God’s grace. She has told us that prayer 
opens the floodgates of
God’s grace. Her messages are characterized by one resounding refrain:
"prayer, conversion, fasting".
Volumes have
been written about the importance and meaning of prayer. The Catechism of the
Catholic Church contains many discourses on prayer. Paragraph 2600 summarizes
the importance that the Son of God put on His prayer to His Father:
2600. "The
Gospel according to St. Luke emphasizes the action of the Holy spirit and the
meaning of prayer in Christ's ministry. Jesus prays before the decisive moments
of His mission; before His father's witness to Him during His baptism and
Transfiguration, and before His own fulfillment of the Father's plan of love by
His Passion (Lk 3:21; Lk 9:28, Lk 22:41-44) He also prays before the
decisive moments involving the mission of His apostles; at His election and
call of the Twelve, before Peter's confession of Him as "the Christ of
God", and again that the faith of the chief of the Apostles may not fail
when tempted (Lk 6:12; Lk 9:18-20; Lk 22:32). Jesus' prayer before the
events of salvation that the Father has asked Him to fulfill is a humble and
trusting commitment of His human will to the loving will of the Father."
Mark’s gospel
contains a potent account of the power of prayer. It is the story of a boy
possessed by a demon, and brought to Jesus after His disciples had failed to
cast the demon from the boy :
"…Teacher,
I have brought to You my son possessed by a mute
spirit. Wherever it seizes him, it throws him down; he foams at the mouth,
grinds his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked Your
disciples to drive it out, but they were unable to do so."
He said to them
in reply, "O faithless generation, how long will I be with you? How long
will I endure you? Bring him to me." They brought the boy to Him. And when
He saw him, the spirit immediately threw the boy into convulsions. As he fell
to the ground, he began to roll around and foam at the mouth.
Then He
questioned his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" He
replied, "Since childhood. It has often thrown him into fire and into
water to kill him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help
us. "
Jesus said to
him, "If you can!" Everything is possible to one who has faith." Then the boy’s father
cried out, "I do believe, help my unbelief!"
Jesus, on
seeing a crowd rapidly gathering, rebuked the unclean spirit and said to it.
"Mute and deaf spirit, I command you come out of him and never enter him
again!" Shouting and throwing the boy into convulsions, it came out. He
became like a corpse, which caused many to say, "He is dead!" But
Jesus took him by the hand, raised him, and he stood up. When He entered the
house, His disciples asked him in private, "Why could we not drive it
out?" He said to them, "This kind can only come out through prayer.".
Clearly, what
we are shown here is that faithful prayer has power and dominion over demons.
We are given
further evidence of the power of prayer in obtaining the unfathomable mercy of
God in an account in Saint Faustina Kowalska’s diary, which delineates her
prayer to Jesus and His response:
"Jesus, I
beg you by the inconceivable power of Your Mercy, that all the souls who will
die today escape the fire of hell, even if they have been the greatest
sinners…because Your mercy is inconceivable, the
Angels will not be surprised at this. (Jesus pressed me to His Heart and said…)
My beloved
daughter, you have come to know well the depths of My
mercy. I will do what you ask, but unite yourself continually with My agonizing Heart and make reparation to My justice. Know
that you have asked me for a great thing, but I see that this was dictated by
your pure love for Me; that is why I am complying with
your requests. (2; 873)"
In another
account of her diary, Jesus speaks to Saint Faustina about the Chaplet of
Divine Mercy:
"Say
unceasingly this chaplet that I have taught you. Anyone who says it will
receive great mercy at the hour of death. Priests will recommend it to sinners
as the last hope. Even the most hardened sinner, if he recites this Chaplet
even once, will receive grace from My Infinite Mercy. I want the whole world to
know My Infinite Mercy. I want to give unimaginable graces to those who trust
in My Mercy… ."
"When they
say this Chaplet in the presence of the dying, I will stand between My Father
and the dying person not as the just judge but as the Merciful Savior". (1541)
In Medjugorje
Our Lady provided additional insight into the power of prayer when she told the
visionaries: "You have forgotten that through prayer and fasting
you can avert war and suspend the laws of nature." 
She told us that
"Prayer possesses a potent force and starts a chain reaction for good that
is far more powerful than any atomic reaction!" If you find this hard to
believe, consider the account of Father Schiffer and his fellow priests who
survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945.
Father Schiffer
and seven of his brother priests lived only a few blocks away from "ground
zero". They survived the powerful explosion, the intense heat of over 15
thousand degrees Fahrenheit, and the related radiation --- unharmed. For decades afterwards,
hundreds of scientists who had examined the priests,
were unable to explain what had saved them from incineration and instant death.
Father Schiffer
provided the answer when asked in a television interview. He said, "In that house, we were
living the message of
The Current Need For Prayer
We have been living
through the Era of Divine Mercy, as explained by Jesus to Saint Faustina. A time of extraordinary grace to bring man to conversion and
repentance. Soon it will end; and either we will have capitalized upon
such grace, or it will have been lost.
Further, Our
Lord and Our Lady have told us through many recent and current-day prophets
that we are living through the Tribulation. Many of the signs are present in
the news and weather coverage of our major news networks. Unfortunately, most
of the signs have to be sought through other news providers.
If only a
fraction of the alleged prophecies are true; and the signs in the wars and
rumors of wars, the call for a new world order in a one-world government, the
call for a one-world false religion, the attack upon Catholicism and the
unalterable word of God, the introduction of the subdermal microchip (the Mark
of the Beast), storms, drought, pestilence, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions,
floods, etc., then soon we will witness the end of Satan’s worldly reign.
Before that happens, however; and if man fails to repent, the world will
experience the wrath of God.
Once again we
were shown the current need for prayer when, the Blessed Virgin Mary told the
visionaries of Medjugorje, "I have prayed; the punishment has been
softened. Repeated prayers and fasting reduce punishments from God, but it is
not possible to avoid entirely the chastisement."
Our Lady’s
message #282 to Father Gobbi is among the more powerful and poignant messages
that we have ever received. Actually, it contains several messages within one.
In it she emphasized the need for continued prayer. She said
:
"…This is what I
want to tell you. Don’t be delayed, therefore, by the predictions I give you in
the effort to make you comprehend the times in which you are living.
Like a mother,
I am telling you the dangers through which you are going, the imminent threats, the extent of the evils
that could happen to you, only because these evils can yet be avoided by you,
the dangers can be evaded, the plan of God’s justice always can be changed by
the force of his merciful love. Also, when I predict chastisements to you, remember that everything, at any moment,
may be changed by the force of your prayer and your reparative penance.
Do not say
therefore: "How much of what you predicted to us has not come true!" Instead, give thanks with
me to the Heavenly Father because at the response of your prayer and consecration, your suffering, and on
account of the immense suffering of so many of my poor children, again He alters the period
of justice, to permit that of the great mercy to come to flower…".
Let’s take a
closer look at the second underscored phrase again. "
Also, when I predict chastisements to you, remember that……… everything,
……… at any moment……... may be changed……… by the force of your prayer………and your
reparative penance.". She said EVERYTHING at ANY MOMENT
!
CLEARLY, THE
MESSAGE SHOUTS LOUDLY THAT WE MUST NEVER CEASE PRAYING………WE MUST CONTINUE TO
HOPE …[emphasis added]
Message #282
was originally provided in 1984. As of this writing, we are continuing to be
told by Our Lord and Our Lady through a multitude of alleged mystics that the
chastisements that remain continue to be terrible and extremely grave.
(Also, note the
phrase: "…again He alters the period of justice…".
As we can see, man is unable to predict the timing of future events.).
In her message
No. 336 to Father Gobbi, Our Lady identifies the weapon of choice, and advises
us of the Enemy’s traps. She said:
"I am the
Queen of the Rosary. I am your Leader who is guiding you in the terrible battle
against Satan and all the spirits of evil. If you allow yourselves to be led
with docility by me, you will always feel at your side the precious help which
is given to you by the angels of the Lord, the blessed and the saints of
paradise, and all the souls who are still being purified in purgatory…"
"…I want
to call upon you to fight, with courage and confidence, without allowing
yourselves to become alarmed at the subtle and dangerous tactics made use of by
my Adversary to bring you to discouragement.
For this
reason, I want to uncover for you three traps which form part of a particular
strategy employed by my Adversary, in this great battle.
The first is
that of spreading about the certainty that he has already succeeded in
conquering the whole world, that he has established his reign in it and that he
fully exercises his power there…A most dangerous means, made use of by Satan in
these times, is that of giving the impression that there is no longer anything
more to be done, that one will no longer succeed in changing anything, and that
it has already become useless to make any kind of an effort to lead humanity
along the road of return to God and to good…"
"…The
second is that of having succeeded in putting the Church in a state of grave
difficulty, shaking it to its foundation, by the wind of contestation, of
division, of infidelity and of apostasy. Many are losing courage, as they see
how numerous today are those pastors who are allowing themselves
to be deceived by his subtle and dangerous action.
The means which
you must use to fight back against this ambush of his is that of your consecration to
my Immaculate Heart, because the Church, even though it appears wounded, darkened and
routed today, has been entrusted by Jesus to the loving protection of your
heavenly Mother. I want to help it, console it and heal it through you, beloved
children consecrated to my Heart and docile instruments of my motherly will.
Through you, I am pouring balm upon its painful wounds, comforting the hours of
its desolate passion and preparing the moment of its greatest renewal.
I am doing
this, in these times in a most special way through my Pope John Paul II, who is
bringing the sign of my motherly presence everywhere. He is giving you the
battle sign; he is guiding you in the struggle; he is teaching you courage and
confidence; he is already announcing to you my sure victory. Follow him along
the road which he points out, if you wish to prepare, with me, a new and
radiant Pentecost for the whole Church.
The third is
that of succeeding in spreading everywhere, through all the means of social
communication, his wicked works of destruction and death. Thus, divisions are
multiplying, impurity is being exalted; corruption is extensive; violence is
becoming more and more widespread; hatred is flooding the land, and wars are
expanding menacingly.
To fight and
conquer all this evil, which is attempting to submerge the entire human race,
you must have recourse to the powerful weapon of prayer. In fact, the new era
will be able to come to you only as a gift of the Spirit of the Lord, not as
the fruit of the work of man. And so it is necessary to ask for this gift
through a continual, incessant, and trusting prayer.
Pray with me. .All the Church must enter
into the cenacle of my Immaculate Heart, to invoke, with the heavenly Mother, a very
special outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which will lead it to live the
experience of a second and radiant Pentecost.
Pray above all with
the prayer of the holy rosary. Let the rosary be, for everyone, the powerful weapon to be made
use of in these times.
The rosary
brings you to peace. With this prayer, you are able to obtain from the Lord the great
grace of a change of hearts, of the conversion of souls, and of the return of
all humanity to God, along the road of repentance, of love, of divine grace and
of holiness.
Then you will no
longer say: "But always and everywhere, everything remains just as it was.
Nothing ever changes!"------ This is not true, my beloved children. Each
day, in silence and in hiddenness, the heavenly Mother is waging her battle
against the Adversary and is working, by means of most extraordinary signs and
manifestations, to change the heart of the world."
How many times
have we read her words, "Thank you for having responded to my call.". The first time that I read these words I cried. Each
time thereafter, I either have cried or have come close to it. How awesome. The
mother of God thanking me………me!
Lately Our
Lady’s messages contain a certain staccato of urgency and the resonance of
desperate pleas. She needs our help. She needs our prayers. She needs them to
present to her Son to comfort His pain, appease His wrath, and trigger His
mercy. Her effectiveness at mediating between her Son and man is limited by the
nature and extent of our prayers. She is doing battle with the Red Dragon with
our prayers as her weapons.
It is up to us to see that she is well armed.
On the Manner of Prayer
Recently, Our
Heavenly Father told an alleged visionary that we should always begin each
prayer by giving Him honor and praise. Too often many of us overlook prayer directly
to Our Heavenly Father. He is a God of unfathomable love and mercy. He is not
an angry God. We owe Him everything, and should proclaim our love for Him and
gratitude to Him, frequently.
Our Lady has
told us through various other mystics, that with each prayer, we should (1) unite it with the all
of the Holy Masses, rosaries, chaplets, and other prayers said on that day; and
(2) ask all of the angels and saints to join us in our recitation. We thereby multiply the
impact of our prayer.
The Church teaches
that active participation in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the most
efficacious means. In his book "How to Avoid Purgatory", Father Paul O’Sullivan
stated: "The Mass is identical with the Sacrifice of
Our Lady told us that the
rosary is second only to the Holy Mass. In the above mentioned quotes, we see the
importance that Jesus and Mary place upon the rosary and the Chaplet of Divine
Mercy.
Each time we
pray, we should include the intentions of Our Lady in our personal petitions. Why? First, she has asked
us to remember to pray for her intentions, always. Secondly, who better to know
the desires of the Holy Trinity, than the daughter of the Father, the mother of
the Son, and the spouse of the Holy Spirit? Every time that we pray for the
intentions of the Blessed Virgin, our prayers reach the heart of the Holy
Trinity. We hit the bull’s eye each time. We simply can not go wrong. [emphasis added]
The following
are brief excerpts from the Diary of Saint Faustina, in which Jesus provides
additional insight into certain preferred prayer:
"My
daughter…why do you not tell me about everything that concerns you, even the
smallest details? Tell me about everything, and know that this will give Me great joy. I answered, "But You
know about everything, Lord." And Jesus replied to me, "Yes I do
know, but you should not excuse yourself with the fact that I know, but with
childlike simplicity talk to Me about everything, for
my ears and heart are inclined towards you, and your words are dear to
Me." (2; 921)
"The loss
of each soul plunges Me into mortal sadness. You
always console Me when you pray for sinners. The
prayer most pleasing to Me is the prayer for the conversion
of sinners. Know, My daughter, that this prayer is
always heard and answered." (1397)
"When you
say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith on behalf of some sinner,
I will give him the grace of conversion. This is the prayer: "O Blood and
Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I
trust in You.". (186-7)
"The
graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel
only, and that is - trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive.
Souls that trust boundlessly are a great comfort to Me,
because I pour all the treasures of My graces into them. I rejoice that they
ask for much, because it is My desire to give much,
very much. On the other hand, I am sad when souls ask for little, when they
narrow their hearts." (1578)
Prayer becomes
easy and joyful when we make it our life. It is not hard to do when we
consciously try. The more we pray, the more it becomes a normal, routine
two-way communication with the Lord. It was St. Clement of
Strange as it
may sound, there is an abundance of time for prayer of all types. Generally,
you can pray at any time when your mind is not actively preoccupied with
another activity. You can remain reasonably active physically, and still
concentrate on prayer. Some examples include praying while: bathing, grooming,
commuting to work or school, standing in line, eating alone, performing routine
actions at work, washing clothes, washing dishes, washing autos, mowing the lawn,
weeding the garden, painting, vacuuming, ironing clothes, and so on.
There are
several audio recordings of the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy being
recited, which can be played while driving. They bring great peace while
capitalizing on time that otherwise might have been misspent.
Personally, I
believe that one of the best times to pray is when you are tempted not to pray
due to fatigue or the desire to do something else. By praying at such times, we
not only obtain the attendant grace, but also surely frustrate Satan even more.
Recently via
several alleged visionaries, Our Lord and Our Lady told us that daily we should
go into a "quite time" to pray, and afterwards await the response of
the Lord in our hearts. It may be in the form of a peaceful feeling, a
preeminent thought, or a locution.
The 3 o’clock Hour
Our Lord
explained to Saint Faustina the efficacy of prayer recited during the 3 o’clock
hour, the hour of His death on the cross. He said:
"I remind
you, My daughter that as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour,
immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its
omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; for at that
moment mercy was opened wide for every soul. In this hour you can obtain
everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace
for the whole world - mercy triumphed over justice.
My daughter,
try your best to make the Stations of the Cross in this hour, provided that
your duties permit it; and if you are not able to make the Stations of the
Cross, then at least step into the chapel for a moment and adore, in the
Blessed Sacrament, My Heart, which is full of mercy; and should you be unable
to step into the chapel, immerse yourself in prayer there where you happen to be, if only
for a very brief instant. I claim veneration for My mercy from
every creature, but above all from you, since it is to you that I have given the
most profound understanding of this mystery." (1572)
You can take
advantage of this grace best by setting the alarm on your watch, or the notice
function contained in the scheduling and calendar software on your computer. It
can be set to notify you to pray each day at the 3 o'clock hour.
At such time, a
simple prayer can be said such as: "Eternal Father, we offer you the body,
blood, soul and divinity of your only begotten son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement
for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful
passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world, and mitigate the forthcoming
chastisements. We pray this in Jesus' most holy name. Amen.".
Conversion and Fasting
To be sure, for
2,000 years the Blessed Mother has been pleading for mankind to convert from
its evil ways and return to her son. Perhaps, this message is best summarized
in her message #289 to Father Gobbi, in which she said:
"These are
my times. Today while you recall my first apparition which took place at
You are in the
period in which the struggle between me, the Woman Clothed with the Sun, and my
Adversary, the Red Dragon, is moving now toward its conclusion, and for this
reason I am again appearing in a new and more extraordinary way to assure you
that my presence in your midst is habitual.
I am communicating to all
my maternal will with a message which today has become anguished and urgent.
Be converted,
and repent of your sins!
Be converted,
and return to the God who saves you!
Be converted,
and walk along the road of goodness, of love, and of holiness!
This is still
for you the precious time of conversion. Receive my invitation, which, in so
many ways, I still wish to address to my children who are so endangered.
Pray more; pray
with the holy rosary; pray among yourselves in the cenacles; above all, pray in
the family.
I want
Christian families to return to the practice of praying with me and by means of
me, so that they will be saved from the great evils threatening them.
Mortify
yourselves with penance and corporal fasting.
It is fasting
from evil and from sin that I prefer, of renunciations of smoking, alcohol,
motion pictures and television. Do not watch television shows which corrupt
your interior chastity and bring so much dissipation into your souls, sowing
the germs of evil in your hearts.
I am also
asking for bodily fasting, at least every now and then, just as it has been
requested of you by my son Jesus, in the Gospel, when he said: "Certain
kinds of demons can be ejected only by prayer and fasting.".
Consecrate yourselves continually to my Immaculate Heart,
and
live in daily communion of life and of love with me.
I am the Mother
of the Faith; I am the faithful virgin, and today you should ask me for help to
remain in the true faith. For this reason I summon you to listen to and follow
the Pope, who has from Jesus the promise of infallibility, and to recite the
Creed often as a renewed profession of our faith.
If you do
everything I ask you, you will be walking each day with me towards your
conversion. Live well this space of time which the merciful love of Jesus still
gives you.
You will live
with trust and with joy the impending moment of the triumph of my Immaculate
Heart.".
Epilogue
We are
witnessing the ending of Satanic rule. God only knows when the end of his rule will come, but
it will be soon. At our option, we have the honor and privilege of
participating in the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. All of the angels
and saints must be desirous of our opportunity to serve the Holy Trinity in
this manner.
This is the
time of the greatest battle in history, the battle between the Lady clothed
with the Sun and the Red Dragon (Rv 12). She is calling us to
actively help her in this battle. If we choose not to participate, we will have
the rest of eternity to think about our decision.
Her statues are crying for our
help.
She is pleading with us to be her
prayer warriors.
Be all you can be in Our Lady’s Army !
Like the proverbial last straw
that broke the camel’s back, your next prayer,
however small, might
be THE prayer that triggers God’s mercy upon the world.

An Act of Consecration to the
Immaculate Heart of Mary
I, (your name), a
faithless sinner-- renew and ratify today in thy hands, O Immaculate Mother,
the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps
and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to
carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to
Him than I have ever been before.
In the presence
of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day, for my Mother and Mistress. I
deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both
interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present
and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and
all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for
the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity. Amen.
An Act of Consecration to the
Sacred Heart of Jesus
Most Sacred
Heart of Jesus, Abyss of Mercy and Source of every grace and blessing, I
consecrate and unite myself to You without exception
or reserve - all that I am and all that I have, both temporal and spiritual,
past present and future, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your Mother.
I leave myself entirely at Your disposal with complete
confidence in Your Mercy and Love and I beg You to look upon this offering of
my nothingness before You and to use me for Your own glory, for the honor of
Your Mother and for the salvation of souls. Help me to seek You
alone in all things. Hide me in the shelter of Your Most Sacred Heart and be my
only Consolation and Refuge.
Grant me the graces I need to joyfully accept Your Cross daily, to lead a holy
life and to die a holy death in Your service. Help me
to trust completely in Your Mercy and Love and never to fear to humbly throw
myself before the infinite Ocean of mercy which is Your Most Sacred Heart,
especially at those times when I may fail in my faithfulness in Your service. Through this weak and miserable instrument,
may Your Mercy, Love, glory and power shine forth.
Above all, set my poor heart on fire with the Flame of Love which burns in Your
Most Sacred Heart, and teach me how to return love for Love. Most Sacred Heart
of Jesus, have mercy on me - for I place all my trust in You.
How To
Save Your Children
During one of
the cenacles which Fr. Gobbi held in the United States, he was urged by many
concerned people to ask Our Lady specifically what could be done to save the
youth from the seductions of the world which were leading many of them astray
and causing them to leave the Church. Our Lady gave Fr. Gobbi this definite and
final solution to console the parents who are so concerned about the salvation
of their children:

Every time you pray the Rosary say: "With this Rosary I bind all my children to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.". |

In doing so, Our Lady promised "to see to their souls.". |
